The Institute of Pedagogy, Business and Law operates under the Almaty Humanitarian-Economic University, which was established in 2021 through the merger of two institutions: the Almaty University and the Almaty Academy of Economics and Statistics. The University has a state license of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. KZ40LAA31976 dated 06.09.2021.
Despite the fact that the Institute of Pedagogy, Business and Law was established in 2021, it has extensive experience of formation and development. The Institute is the successor of the Almaty Institute of Continuing Education, which was established back in 2003.
Then in 2013, the Almaty Institute of Continuing Education by the decision of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan in connection with the optimization of universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan became the part of the newly created university - the Almaty University.
Currently, the Institute of Pedagogy, Business and Law is a multidisciplinary educational, methodological and scientific-educational center with higher and postgraduate education in such fields of study as "Pedagogical Sciences", "Social Sciences", "Law", "Business and Management", "Transport Services". The Institute has licenses in 8 areas of bachelor's degree, 3 areas of master's degree. Staff training is carried out in 13 bachelor's degree and 3 master's degree programs.
The number of students of the Institute is more than 2500.
The faculty staff consists of more than 120 teachers, including 9 doctors of sciences, 38 candidates of sciences, 6 PhD and 47 masters of sciences.
The Institute of Pedagogy, Business and Law has three departments: "Pedagogy, Psychology and Socio-humanitarian disciplines", "Economics, Services and Law" and "Pedagogy of Natural Sciences and Physical Education".
The research work of faculty staff and students is developing at the Institute, active work is being carried out on the implementation of scientific projects.
In total, in the 2022/2023 academic year, faculty staff and students of the Institute published: 9 monographs, 1 textbook, 7 textbooks and 3 teaching aids, 11 scientific articles with the Scopus impact factor, Web of Science, 19 scientific articles in the Republic of Kazakhstan, far and near abroad, 86 scientific reports at conferences in the Republic of Kazakhstan, far and near abroad.
Since 2018, the scientific journal "Khabarshy/Vestnik" has been published at the Institute. The Council of Young Scientists is successfully functioning.
According to the results of research and development, faculty staff and students receive authorship certificates, diplomas and certificates.
The Institute conducts bilateral cooperation with 23 foreign universities of the near and far abroad in various areas of educational and scientific activity, including the Moscow Institute of Psychoanalysis (RF), the Academy of Social Education (RF), the Institute of Social and Humanitarian Knowledge (RF), the Baltic International Academy (Latvia), the University of Suceava (Romania), Jawaharlal Nehru University (India), Belgrade University (Serbia), Kyrgyz-Kazakh University (Kyrgyzstan), Kyrgyz National University named after Zh.Balasagyna et al.
