On November 14-17, 2023, the first Vice-Rector of AHEU L.M. Bekenova and the Vice-Rector for Science of AHEU G.Zh. Seitkhamzina took part in the VII All-Russian Strategic Development Forum "Cities of Russia: New Frontiers", organized by the Ural Federal University (Yekaterinburg, Russia).
VII All-Russian Strategic Development Forum "Cities of Russia: New Frontiers" was held under the patronage of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation. The organizers of the Forum: the Administration of the City of Yekaterinburg, the Center for Strategic Research Foundation, the Union of Russian Cities. The forum "Cities of Russia" has been held since 2016 and is the only regular event in the country dedicated to urban development issues.
Traditionally, the theme of the Forum "Cities of Russia" is devoted to the most pressing issues of urban planning, economic sustainability, local consideration of global challenges, as well as the achievement of strategic objectives set by the Government of the Russian Federation.
The business program of the Forum highlights several main discussion tracks:
- agglomerations and inter-municipal cooperation;
- new city policy;
- best inter-municipal practices;
- powers of local self-government bodies and control and supervisory activities;
- human capital;
- single-industry towns.
AHEU Vice-Rectors L.M. Bekenova and G.Zh. Seitkhamzina took part in the Round table "Beyond all inclusive: the recreational and creative potential of the Russian city".
The range of issues to be discussed:
- Strategies, projects and programs for the development of tourism industries: national approaches and best urban practices;
- Recreational potential of cities in industrial regions: are there any alternatives to beach holidays;
- Creative industries and their role in realizing the recreational potential of the city;
- Assessment of the dynamics of the tourism industry in cities: indicators, methods, data sources;
- Material, financial and non-material resources for the development of the recreational potential of the city;
- Industrial tourism: new or well-forgotten old?
- Universities as new centers of academic, scientific and business tourism.
