On March 11, 2025, the Almaty University of Humanities and Economics hosted a seminar for students and teachers of the educational program "6B01503 - Geography Teacher Training" on the topic: "Applied fundamentals of geoinformation technologies in teaching updated school geography." Nurbol Ergeshovich Usenov, PhD, Acting Professor of the Department of Geography and Ecology of the Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abai, delivered a speech at this seminar.   During the seminar, Nurbol Ergeshovich presented modern approaches to the use of information tools, geoinformation portals, web mapping services, multimedia technologies and digital resources in the educational process. He stressed that the use of GIS technologies makes geography teaching more visual, interactive and effective.

The students were particularly interested in discussing the practical application of geoinformation systems in such fields as cartography and ecology. The seminar participants gained valuable knowledge about the possibilities of GIS in visualizing geographical information and modeling natural processes.

The seminar became a useful platform for sharing experiences and expanding students' understanding of modern digital tools in geography education.
